About me

Warm and experienced Foundation Phase teacher with eleven years in the classroom, teaching Grades R to 3. I have a special interest in supporting neurodivergent learners and have built inclusive classrooms where autistic and ADHD children can thrive alongside their peers. I work closely with parents and therapists, and I believe every child learns differently. Looking for a teaching or learning-support role in an inclusive school.

  • Foundation Phase Teacher

    Oakfield Primary School, Cape Town · January 2018 – Current

    Class teacher for Grade 1 and Grade 2, around 28 learners per class. Adapted lessons and the classroom environment for several autistic and ADHD learners, including visual schedules and quiet corners. Worked alongside occupational therapists and the school's remedial teacher on individual support plans. Ran regular feedback meetings with parents about their children's progress and needs.

    Taught Grade R and Grade 1 in a mainstream school. Introduced sensory-friendly routines after noticing several children struggled with transitions.
